Why Divetech @ Cobalt Coast?
Two Dive Instructors will accompany you during your boat dives ensuring your safety and pointing out the diverse marine life.
What's the difference between dive instructor and dive master?
Dive instructors have more training than dive masters. Our dive instructors are all PADI certified to teach you open water diving. Most of them have acquired additional certifications (through many other agencies) so they are able to teach many other courses.

Divetech staff specializes in small surprises: committed dive instructors who will take you the finest dive sites:
Tarpon Alley. . . .
Doc Polson. . . .
Oro Verde . . .
World-famous Stingray City
Or to some new dive sites:
Valley of the Turtles
Lexus Legacy
Our dive instructors give pre-dive briefings of all dive sites before entering the water.
We offer shore dives 24/7 - right out your front door with easy access from our ocean dock.
School House Reef . . .
Cobalt Ridge. . . .
Sand Hole Reef. . .
The Thumb . . .
And of course more Shore diving at Divetech's newest shore diving location:
Lighthouse Point - just 8 minutes away.

Cobalt Coast is an intimate dive lodge, offering upscale Resort amenities such as free wi-fi, A/C,
a full service bar, an ala carte restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. (and a TV in the living room as well as the bedroom of the suite)
What happens to my deposit if I can't come?
The Resort requires only a $500 deposit to hold your reservaion.
You get your full deposit refunded or applied to your next stay. Just give us 24 hours notice so we can inform the dive shop that you will not be on the morning boat and we can refund your money in full. We do ask that you give us more time during the holidays (30 days notice), but we are always willing to work with you on having you spend your money on your vacation.
What's included in the one-bedroom suite?
The Resort offers large "2 room" suites with a commanding ocean view from living room.
ocean
This means the living room (with a queen sleeper sofa) is completely separate from the bed room for more privacy. All suites have an extra large bathroom!

How far are we from Seven Mile Beach?
The Resort is located away from the hustle and bustle of world-famous Seven Mile Beach.
The Resort is located on Grand Cayman's spectacular North Wall ideal for shore diving or snorkeling just off our ocean dock. Yet we are only 15 minutes from "the Strip" where you can walk or party on the beach and shop by car or by local bus service.

The Cayman Islands currency is the Cayman Dollar. The exchange rate is US$1.25 for 1 Cayman Dollar. ($1.00US = $0.80CI) You’ll recognize true price value when you compare our packages with other destinations in spite of the currency exchange rate.
Do I need to change currency?
No need to exchange currency as almost everyone accepts US dollars for payment.

What do you get for the 25% added expense?
You'll enjoy peace and quiet with no one to bother you. There are no T-shirt sellers, dope peddlers or arm-twisters. You'll just put up with occassional big island smiles!
We offer special event weeks for dedicated rebreather divers, photographers, kids and their family. These weeks are focused on diving adventure, diving education and have proven to be quite successful with many divers coming back every year.

What do the guide books say about us?
The Bradt Travel Guide
Refreshingly relaxed and individual, this small resort nestles in Boatswain’s Bay, a secluded beachfront location on the north of West Bay, some two miles from the Turtle Farm. It is owned and efficiently run by Dutch hotelier Arie Barendrecht, whose easy-going charm is complemented by the helpfulness of his mostly Caymanian staff. Accommodation ranges from large bedrooms and suites to villas, so there are plenty of options. Each of the hotel rooms and one- or two-bedroom suites has one king or two double beds per bedroom, a living room with queen size sofa bed (in the suites only), AC, TV, fridge, coffee machine, telephone and safe. In addition, the two villas have fully equipped kitchens. Duppies restaurant and bar look out over the swimming pool and Jacuzzi, and beyond to the sea – though the beach is iron shore. The hotel has its own boat dock and diving is though Divetech, who are based at the resort and have an on-site shop. The shore diving and snorkeling from here are excellent, yet the clientele remains mixed, with about a third of
the guests as non-divers.

Caribbean Islands by Lonely Planet
On the northwest shore of Boatswains Bay a few miles north of Seven Mile Beach, this diving resort successfully combines a mellow island vibe with luxurious Caribbean elegance. On site is a decent restaurant and bar, Duppies, a 120ft dock and the Divetech dive center.
Caribbean by Fodors
This small hotel is perfect for divers who want a sparkling, spacious, stylish room or suite right on the iron shore, far, far from the madding crowds. The management pays attention to the details and has succeeded in producing a wonderful place to get away and just dive. The cutting-edge dive operation, Divetech, runs smoothly, catering to a wide array of needs with state-of-the-art equipment, and Duppies restaurant is surprisingly good for such a small hotel. As the gracious, gregarious Dutch-born owner, Arie Barendrecht says, "The whole idea is to complement the dive experience. Add great shore diving and this is a no-brainer."

Diving and Snorkeling by Lonely Planet
The dive hotels closest to the night-life are right on the western shoreline at the famous Seven Mile Beach. There are also many other options, include seaside hotels like Boatswain’s Bay’s Cobalt Coast . . . which have their own charm set away from the main drag.

Frommer's Portable Cayman Islands - 4th Edition
Fans of this resort liken it to a contemporary B&B where most clients are deeply involed with diving. It's one of the best resorts for divers on Grand Cayman, thanks to the on-site, full service dive operation (Divetech) and a deep droff-off (the North Wall), a short distance off-shore, that is loaded with marine life. You have to drive through Hell to get there, though. Don't expect a sandy beach: The coastline on this part of the island is infamously composed of jagged rocks, and swimmers use a series of ladders and metal steps to lower themslves into the surf. Even the diving boats have to moor at the end of an extensive pier to avoid damage. Rooms include oceanfront suites and standard rooms, which are all spacious, modern, cozy and soothing. On-site restaurant Duppies serves well-prepared light fare, including platters of local food and sandwiches.
